printmaking residency at London Print Studio

Here is the first look at one of the photopolymer (solar plate) etchings I'm working on at the London Print Studio. I'll continue to post as they evolve.

This process involved painting on a transparent sheet of mylar, then exposing it on to a photo sensitive plate with UV light. I then washed off the emulsion to reveal a recessed intaglio surface. From there I inked up the plate with black ink, rubbed off the surface, and rolled on a few layers of turquoise ink on the face of the plate. I ran it through the press and voila - here you are!
